ACT Ecolabel Channel Partners Support Verified Sustainability Data
The newly revised My Green Lab® ACT® Ecolabel 2.0 Standard is transforming how sustainability data is measured and communicated for lab products. The ACT Ecolabel brings third-party verified environmental performance data to product purchasing decisions, empowering scientists, procurement teams, and manufacturers to make informed, sustainability-aligned choices.
With ACT certification and an enhanced product database, scientists can identify environmentally preferred lab products. In collaboration with My Green Lab, the ACT Ecolabel Channel Partners are supporting the expansion of available product sustainability data by integrating ACT certification into catalogues and purchasing platforms worldwide.
Leading the Movement for Improved Procurement
Introducing the ACT Ecolabel Channel Partners
We are excited to announce partnerships with leading laboratory product distribution platforms and marketplaces to integrate the My Green Lab ACT Ecolabel over the next several months. Our ACT® Ecolabel Channel Partners will use the ACT Ecolabel to present third-party verified environmental performance data to support customers in making informed and sustainability-aligned purchasing decisions.
The ACT Ecolabel Channel Partners include Avantor, Cenmed Enterprises, Fisher Scientific, Labviva, Lasec Group, MarathonLS, Quartzy, and Thomas Scientific. We appreciate the leadership of these ACT Ecolabel Channel Partners to increase product transparency and advance sustainability across the global lab supply chain.
Accelerating Transparency in Laboratory Procurement
The ACT Ecolabel Program continues to scale at a remarkable pace. More than 2,000 products from over 40 manufacturers are currently being audited to the ACT Ecolabel 2.0 Standard, with more product audits starting soon. The first ACT Ecolabel 2.0-certified products have recently been added to the ACT database, with these certifications complementing over 2,100 lab products already certified to the ACT Ecolabel 1.3 Standard. In total, more than 60 manufacturers are now engaged in the ACT Ecolabel Program.
ACT-certified lab products include equipment, consumables, chemicals and reagents, PPE, and kits. ACT Ecolabel certification offers scientists and procurement professionals the transparency needed to make data-driven purchasing decisions that align with organizational sustainability goals, including Scope 3 reporting for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
How the ACT Ecolabel Provides Verified Product Sustainability Data
Using the ACT Ecolabel Standard framework, independent auditors confirm all sustainability accomplishments that are claimed by the manufacturer. The results are reported on the ACT Ecolabel through a standardized, science-based, 100 point weighted score. ACT Ecolabel certification supports scientists and procurement teams seeking data-driven purchasing decisions that lower environmental impact.
The ACT Ecolabel also reports on the energy and water consumption of lab equipment. Manufacturers test their equipment using standardized protocols modeled after real-world laboratory use, similar to the approach behind the well-known Energy Star® testing for laboratory cold storage. These standardized testing protocols help manufacturers better understand and improve the energy consumption of their products and support labs seeking to reduce energy consumption and plug load impacts.
The Global Shift Toward Verified Sustainability
With new anti-greenwashing laws and updated procurement standards worldwide, verified sustainability data is quickly becoming a regulatory requirement. The ACT Ecolabel Program is approved by the U.S. EPA and aligned with E.U. and other global regulations on sustainability claims, and the ACT Ecolabel Standard provides a consistent framework for measuring and reporting lab product sustainability, including energy and water use, recycled and recyclable content, circularity programs, improved shipping, and the product carbon footprint (PCF).
The ACT Ecolabel helps manufacturers, distributors, and procurement teams translate sustainability goals into actionable, data-driven decisions, preparing them for today’s customer expectations and compliance standards.
Third-party verified data
